Days:

  • Weekends or Weekdays

Time:

  • 5-hour block on Weekends(Typically on Saturdays but occasionally may fall on Sundays or Public Holidays)

  • Afternoon – Evening

Requirements:

  • Age 18 and above
  • Available on Saturdays (5-hour block, typically afternoon- to-evening, subject to changes; some events may occur evening-to-night)
  • Volunteers may be required to attend pre-event publicity on weekday nights (e.g. 6.00 PM – 8.00 PM)
  • Volunteer are required to attend an online volunteer briefing session prior to event
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Able to commit six months or more, and at least once per month
  • Able to speak any of the following languages: (optional)
    • Tamil
    • Bengali
    • Hindi
    • Thai
    • Burmese
    • Malay
    • Mandarin

Role & responsibilities:

1. At Health Screening Events

  • Ushers
    • Greet, show hospitality and provide direction to participants
    • Assist with queue management and crowd control
    • Facilitate and/or gather responses at activity booths
  • Registration
    • Assist participants in filling their registration details in the given brochure
  • Height, Weight and BMI Measurement
    • Measure height, weight and BMI of each participant
  • Blood Pressure Taking
    • Take and record blood pressure of each participant
  • Referral
    • Use referral protocol provided by HealthServe to explain recommendations for health improvement to at-risk individuals, i.e. provide suggestions for lifestyle and self- care habits, check beneficiaries’ understanding of health risk indicators
    • Register migrant workers for follow-up appointments (if any)
  • Education
    • By using materials provided by HealthServe, provide individualised health-related guidance and suggestions on lifestyle and self-care habits and health risks depending on the health risk levels of migrant workers
  • Goodie Bag Distribution
    • Distribute marketing collaterals, fruits and beverages, information materials, etc.
  • Engagement Activities
    • Man booths where fun activities are conducted to engage workers; no specialised knowledge is required to run these activities
  1. At Outreach Events
  • Provide assistance with pre-event publicity at dormitories (i.e. reaching out to migrant workers to register for outreach event, poster-placing) (either weekday or weekend nights – 6.00 PM to 8.00 PM)
  • Share HealthServe’s contact details and operating hours and distribute marketing collaterals
  • Encourage participants to subscribe to HealthServe’s social media channels on their mobile devices
  • Assist participants in saving HealthServe’s contact information on their mobile devices
